Knauf’s revolutionary technology means that there are more m2 in a bag of R2.5 insulation than any other brand sold in Australia. The R2.5 will insulate over 15m2 of your roof-space, and in the 580mm variety (designed for homes where the roof timbers are spaced at a standard 600mm from centre to centre) – one bag will insulate over 20m2 of ceiling. Before placing your order, make sure you measure the spaces between the joists so that you order the correct width, thus avoiding lots of needless extra cutting work during the installation process. The ceiling insulation comes in variety of widths and thicknesses to suit the common joist height and spacing. Earthwool Ceiling Insulation Batts are packed in robust poly bags, which include clear instructions for installing ceiling insulation in your home.

Consider Upgrading to a Higher R-Value

An R2.5 is generally considered to be the minimum necessary to properly insulated a roof in the more temperate areas of Australia. Remember that even if your home has been specified as requiring R2.5, it doesn’t hurt to install an insulation with a slightly higher R-value. This will translate into energy cost savings, in particular if energy costs continued to rise.
